We are looking for a Safety & Wellness Manager who will play a pivotal role in defining, embedding, and elevating safety and wellbeing practices across Nido. This role partners closely with Operations, Compliance and People teams to build consistent standards, strengthen positive obligations, and ensure regulatory compliance. As a key advisor to leaders, you’ll help shape a proactive safety culture and deliver initiatives that support physical, emotional and psychosocial wellbeing.

What you’ll do:

Safety Leadership & Compliance
  • Own all Workplace Safety policies and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and psychological safety obligations
  • Partner with Compliance and Operations to standardise safety protocols across all Services
  • Oversee safe environments across design, build and operational stages
  • Strengthen evacuation processes, first aid practices and risk assessment frameworks
Hazards, Risks & Monitoring
  • Maintain hazardous substance registers and Safety Data Sheets
  • Conduct risk assessments and drive corrective actions
  • Lead Food Safety program governance
  • Analyse WHS data and trends to inform continuous improvement
Incident Management
  • Oversee incident and injury reporting systems
  • Provide guidance and reporting to WHS regulators
  • Support and coach leaders through investigation processes
Return to Work (RTW)
  • Partner with People and Operations teams to coordinate RTW plans
  • Manage early intervention and claims processes to support safe, timely return to work
Consultation & Governance
  • Lead WHS consultation obligations under Industrial Instruments
  • Facilitate safety committees and build Responsible Person capability
Wellbeing
  • Identify wellbeing trends and opportunities to uplift employee wellness
  • Develop and monitor Nido’s Wellbeing Strategy
  • Track lead indicators, including engagement and exit data
  • Manage our EAP vendor and maximise utilisation of supports
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
  • 5–10 years WHS leadership experience
  • Strong expertise in incident management, regulator engagement, RTW and claims management
  • Demonstrated capability in wellbeing program design and psychosocial risk management
  • Ability to influence, coach and partner with senior leaders, including Board-level reporting
  • Exceptional communication, data interpretation and documentation skills
  • Passion for continuous improvement and embedding culture-wide safety practices
